Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. The Rev. Jeff DeBlanc, pastor of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Mills was a native of Sunset and a resident of Church Point for most of his life. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A veteran of the military, Mr. Mills proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. Upon discharge from the military, he went on to work at Roy Motors as an Automotive Technician and was a retired Vehicle Technician at South Central Bell until 1999 after twenty-years of employment.
Survivors include four sons, Brad Mills of New York, Jason Mills and his wife, Jill, of Lafayette, Phillip Mills and Marcus Mills and his wife, Ashley, of Church Point; seven grandchildren; and three brothers, Henry Mills and his wife, Marcia, of Opelousas, Maryon Mills and his wife, Maebeth, of Sunset and Andrew Mills and his wife, Robin, of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Mills and the former Evelyn Burleigh Mills; one brother, Joseph Rodney Mills; and one sister, Mary Melba Mills.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
