Obituary
GRAND COTEAU - Funeral services for Chapman Paul Mills, 97, were held 11 a.m., Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church here with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
The Rev. David Andrus, S.J., conducted services. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. The family requested visiting hours observed from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Musical selections were provided by Lora O'Conner and Natalie Sibille, and accompanied on the organ by Katherine Sibille. The songs included "Just a Closer Walk with Thee," "On Eagles Wings," "In the Garden" and "Be Not
Afraid."

Mr. Mills was a native of Shueston and a lifelong resident of Sunset. He was owner and operator of Mills Grocery for over 50 years and a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church. He died Wednesday morning, March
14, 2001, in the Evangeline Oaks of Carencro Guest House.

Survivors include: his devoted wife of 72 years, Marnie Miller Mills of Sunset; one daughter Laura M. Iseringhausen and her husband Ferdinand, of Sunset; four grandchildren, Lorna O'Conner, Ferdie Iseringhausen, Stafford Mills and Catherine Fuselier; one great-grandchild, Landon Fuselier; three brothers, Floyd Mills and his wife Evelyn of Sunset, Bernice Mills of Sunset and Dale Mills and his wife Bertha of Pasadena, Texas; two sisters, Wilma Miller of Sunset and Audrey Fellabaum of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by one son, Glynn Paul Mills; his parents, James B. Mills and the former Alice Richard; three brothers John, James and Rodney Mills, and one sister Louise Hollier.

Melancon Funeral Home of Grand Coteau, Louisiana was in charge of the arrangements.
