Obituary
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2006 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Marie Mills, age 97, the former Marie Miller, who passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 5:30 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

Readers will be Ferdie Iseringhausen and Stafford Mills. Eucharistic Minister will be Audrey Fellabaum.

Musical selections will be provided by Lorna O'Connor and Natalie Sibille, accompanied by Catherine Sibille on the organ. The songs will be Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, Just A Closer Walk With Thee and Somewhere My Love.

Ms. Mills was a native and lifelong resident of Sunset. She was owner and operator with her husband of Mills Grocery Store for over 50 years. She had been a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Ms. Mills was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include one daughter, Laura M. Iseringhausen and her husband, Ferdinand, of Sunset; four grandchildren, Lorna O'Connor and her husband, Jay, of Bosco, LA, Ferdie Iseringhausen and his wife, Celeste, of Bosco, LA, Stafford Mills of Bosco, LA and Catherine Fuselier and her husband, Dennis, of Richard, LA; and two great grandchildren, Landon Fuselier and Blaine Romero.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chapman Paul Mills; one son, Glynn Paul Mills; her parents, Hypolite Miller and the former Magdeline Burleigh, both natives of Sunset; four brothers, Paul Miller, Melvin Miller, Peter Miller and Leo Miller and four sisters, Magdeline Miller, Beverly Miller Spence, Laura Miller and Mary Ethel Sibille.

Pallbearers will be Stafford Mills, Ferdie Iseringhausen, Jay O'Connor, Dennis Fuselier, Landon Fuselier, and Roy Arwood. Honorary pallbearer will be Ferdinand Iseringhausen.

Melancon Funeral Home of Grand Coteau, 289 Church Street was in charge of arrangements.
