Bluegrass Banjo Player. He began playing the banjo at the age of twelve. After graduating from Millbrook High School, Jim pursued his passion for playing Bluegrass music with the group Summer Wages. Over the years, he played with renowned artists, including Barry Poss with Sugarhill Records, The Bass Mountain Boys, Dolly Parton, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Ricky Skaggs (as a longtime member of Kentucky Thunder), and Vince Gill. He played on the stages of the Grand Ole Opry and Carnegie Hall. He won the International Bluegrass Music Association banjo player of the year six times, the IBMA Instrumental Album of the Year for his "Bound to Ride" album, and six Grammy Awards.
